Commissioners Corner
By dick Scott
Just
received news from the Colorado Department of Transportation that
rebuilding of Highway 96 east from Sheridan Lake is forthcoming.
A letter
from Paul A Westhoff states that $2.5 million for surface treatment
funds has been authorized for this reconstruction. The project will be a
standard CDOT bid project to include a full depth- 16 inch deep-
reconditioning of the base, followed by a 3.5 inch asphalt overlay. The
project will be from Sheridan Lake approximately six miles east. The job
will be advertised in July of 2011 with completion before the end of the
2011 construction season.
The commissioners sincerely appreciate CDOT’s response to
our concerns and it will be nice to no longer have that jolting ride
over that section of Hwy 96. It would be great if all of 96 could be
rebuilt but that is a long shot at this time |
